STRABAG Water: Clean water through projects like the Prishtina DWT

22 Mar 2026
Around UN World Water Day, the need for reliable water infrastructure gains focus. This year’s theme, “Water and Gender,” highlights safe water and sanitation as human rights and key drivers of gender equality.

A good moment to highlight what we at STRABAG Water work on every day – globally and in concrete projects. At STRABAG Water, we are committed to protecting one of our most essential resources: clean and safe water. With our projects we supplied so far over 9,9 million people with more than 1 million m³ clean drinking water per day.

Why our work matters

Our contribution - globally and through Prishtina DWTP

With decades of experience, STRABAG Water delivers:

A strong example is our Prishtina DWTP Shkabaj project in Kosovo. Here, STRABAG Water designed, built, installed, and commissioned a Drinking Water Treatment Plant with Dual Media Filtration, including a pumping station, sludge treatment, and a laboratory.

Capacity: 700 l/s – ensuring clean drinking water for a fast‑growing region.

Water as a driver of progress

Every project we deliver helps communities grow, improves public health, and strengthens long‑term quality of life.

Where water flows, equality grows.
