EFKON India Pvt. Ltd. celebrates major win: Mumbai Metro Rail Line 5 Project

We are pleased to announce that EFKON India has been awarded the Mumbai Metro Rail Line 5 project in partnership with IRCON International Ltd. and under the supervision of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

The project marks another important step in EFKON’s contribution to the development of modern and future focused urban transport infrastructure in India.

The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of a 220 kV receiving substation, including high-voltage cabling, overhead catenary systems, SCADA and auxiliary power distribution.

In addition, EFKON India will execute electrical and mechanical works for six elevated stations and the Kasheli Depot. These works comprise electrification, HVAC systems, fire detection and fire-fighting systems, plumbing, as well as building management systems.

The project has a contract value of approximately €32 million and is scheduled to run from July 2025 to November 2027. It will be followed by a 24-month defect liability period and 60 months of comprehensive maintenance.
