STRABAG has over 40 years of international experience in the fields of water infrastructure, drinking water supply, wastewater and sludge treatment, and the construction of complex water treatment plants. The integration of WTE Wassertechnik GmbH strengthens the existing portfolio, particularly in the fields of engineering, process technology and plant construction, whilst also expanding it to include the long-term operation of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, as well as the planning, construction and operation of mono-sewage sludge incineration plants. This enables STRABAG to offer integrated solutions across the entire water value chain from a single source.

IFAT Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for water, wastewater, waste and raw materials management, took place at the Munich Exhibition Centre from 4 to 7 May 2026. In its 60th anniversary year, the event set new records.

Around 3,400 exhibitors from some 60 countries and regions presented their products and services across 300,000 square metres of exhibition space. The 18 exhibition halls and outdoor areas were fully occupied, including more than 110 machines and vehicles in live demonstrations. Around 142,000 visitors from almost 170 countries and regions were counted. The international share was over 50 per cent for both exhibitors and visitors.
