Tunnel and traffic technology: B 427 southwestern bypass

Tunnel and traffic equipment
To alleviate traffic congestion and preserve the environment in the climatic health resort of Bad Bergzabern, SISS is spearheading the electromechanical fit-out of the new 2.5 km bypass tunnel.
Our scope:
- Full automation, power supply, and environmental monitoring (CO2, visibility, airflow).
Saftey infrastructure:
- Implementation of fire alarm systems, emergency communication (radio/telephone), and IP-based video surveillance.
Smart integration:
- Connecting local tunnel control technology to regional monitoring centers for 24/7 oversight.

SIL2-certified surveillance for international rail
In a landmark cooperation with Stadler Rail, SISS is providing cutting-edge CCTV and mirror-replacement camera systems for 246 "CITYLINK" tram-trains. These hybrid vehicles function as both streetcars and regional trains, requiring robust, high-safety technology.
Safety standards:
- All mirror cameras meet the SIL2 (Safety Integrity Level 2) requirement to minimize operational risks.
Climate resilience:
- Custom-engineered hardware featuring integrated heating and de-icing for unrestricted 100 km/h operation in winter conditions.
Scalability:
- A long-term 9-year production cycle serving transit authorities across Germany and Austria.

Red Cross control center

Geo-redundant emergency management
The Red Cross Carinthia manages over 240,000 annual operations via a central rescue hub. SISS designed and implemented the entire technical IT and communication infrastructure, ensuring that life-saving coordination never stops.
System architecture:
- Deployment of the NGS3600 Communication Management System across two geo-redundant sites (Klagenfurt and Villach).
IT infrastructure:
- 10-server redundant virtualization, 43 system cabinets, and integrated GIS/Q&A systems.
Interoperability:
- Seamless VoIP connection to digital radio, vehicle equipment, and patient databases.
